A Nebraska football prospect, Anthony Williams will shortly make his announcement.

Despite having a 5-7 record at the end of the 2023 season and missing out on a bowl game, the Nebraska football program appears to be headed in the right path. While Matt Rhule’s first season as the Cornhuskers’ head coach in 2023 wasn’t very successful, Nebraska did show some potential. The Cornhuskers are currently ramping up their recruiting efforts in anticipation of the 2024 campaign.

Dylan Raiola, the best quarterback in the 2024 class, just declared his intention to play for the Cornhuskers, giving Matt Rhule his first major recruiting commitment as the head coach of the Nebraska football team. Dylan Raiola switched to Nebraska after initially committing to Georgia.

Now, the Cornhuskers are beginning to shift recruiting focus over to the 2025 class, and they have a chance to pick up another commitment soon. Linebacker target Anthony Williams announced on Tuesday that he will be committing on New Year’s Day, and Nebraska is one of his final 12 schools.

Anthony Williams is a three-star recruit, according to 247 Sports. He is the #431 player in the 2025 recruiting class, the #45 linebacker and the #66 player in the state of Texas. He currently attends Shadow Creek High School in Pearland, Texas.

Several prestigious universities, including TCU, Texas, Auburn, Baylor, Arkansas, Kansas, Arizona, Notre Dame, Texas Tech, Oregon, and Houston, compete with Nebraska. He would make a good addition to the Cornhuskers roster.

Getting Williams would be a smart move for Kansas to maintain its recruiting momentum. Other men will want to play alongside a top player like Raiola once they sign him, and this might start a fruitful cycle. The Cornhuskers are aiming for that.
