FAYETTEVILLE — The University of Arkansas’ defensive backs room has doubled its Metcalfs.

Tevis Metcalf, a freshman nickel back, has joined his older brother, TJ, a sophomore safety, in the Razorbacks’ secondary.

The brothers not only are teammates, but roommates.

“We’re closer than ever,” Tevis Metcalf said. “We spend a lot of time together off the field, and we do a lot of work together whether it’s on the field, watching film, working out.

“If there’s something I need help with, TJ is always there for me.

“Even before I got here, he used to show me film on the computer. I’d log in and he’d show me all the different checks and formations we needed to learn.”

TJ Metcalf had a solid freshman season, playing in all 12 games on special teams and defense.
