FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas receiver Andrew Armstrong and running back Rashod Dubinion will be available but won’t start for the team’s season opener Thursday against Arkansas-Pine Bluff, coach Sam Pittman said Wednesday during the SEC’s weekly coaches teleconference.

Armstrong was limited in preseason practices with a minor hamstring injury. Dubinion has been “beat up a little bit,” Pittman said Monday, and had not practiced at full speed consistently for approximately 10 days.

“I don’t know that Andrew’s quite ready,” Pittman said Wednesday. “Certainly, he won’t start. He’ll be available. [Dubinion] will play, and we feel like he’s healthy enough. More importantly, he feels like he’s healthy enough to play. He won’t start, but he’ll be available there. Both of them are available. I see [Dubinion] with an opportunity to play a little more than I do with Andrew.”

Ja’Quinden Jackson is the team’s projected starting running back for Thursday. With Armstrong out of the starting lineup, candidates to play in his stead include CJ Brown, Monte Harrison, Jordan Anthony and Isaac TeSlaa.

The Razorbacks and Golden Lions are scheduled to kick off Thursday at 6:30 p.m. on ESPNU.
