Shocking: Lewis Hamilton Issues Another Shocking Judgment Regarding the Mercedes W14 Car

Lewis Hamilton has expressed his opinion that the W14 isn’t even a “race-winning car,” much less a contender for the championship.

Mercedes is now solely focused on providing Red Bull with some sort of competition in 2024 after losing the championship match for the second year in a row.

The crew at Brackley has been putting in a lot of work behind the scenes to get the W15 ready, which is much needed after Hamilton gave his most recent assessment of the Mercedes vehicle.

Lewis Hamilton downbeat on breaking win drought

Hamilton’s most recent world championship was won on this day in 2020, but he hasn’t even won a race in nearly two years.

Hamilton is not optimistic about the Silver Arrows breaking through the lead anytime soon, with Red Bull still leading by a wide margin and teams like McLaren and Ferrari leading them as well on certain days.

He said to Sky Sports, “I don’t even think it’s probably a race-winning car anymore. It’s still not a world championship-winning car.”

“That’s what we’re going to have to work on for next year.

“But either way we’re going to be fighting to try and stay ahead of the Ferrari and the fact that we are competing for second in the constructors’ title is amazing given from where we started. So I’m really hopeful we can maintain that position.”

George Russell, his teammate, expressed a little more optimism, saying that there was “opportunity” in this weekend’s race in Las Vegas.

“Since these Pirelli tires are difficult even in the best of circumstances, it will undoubtedly be somewhat of a mystery. However, Russell noted, “They’re designed to function in warm climates.

The tarmac typically operates between 30 and 60 degrees, but estimates are probably closer to 10-15 degrees here. This is something we always discuss.

Thus, twice as cold as what the tires are accustomed to. It will therefore be challenging to qualify and provide your temperature [to them]. The tires will be grazing during the race.

It will therefore be a weekend filled with opportunities.

“However, who knows? Perhaps when we go out there, the tires are operating well, and we notice them in the same sequence as we have lately.”
