Dwayne Johnson joined Rogan, who shared his opinions about a possible rematch between Fury and Ngannou.

Following their widely praised fight in Saudi Arabia last month, Joe Rogan and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson are hoping that Tyson Fury will return the favor with Francis Ngannou.

“The Predator” made his professional boxing debut on October 28 against Tyson Fury, who is arguably the greatest heavyweight fighter of all time. Ngannou, who entered the fight as a significant underdog—and understandably so—went on to disprove the opinions of everyone who had doubted him by dominating the WBC champion.

Since then, fans of the fighting sport have been eager to learn what Ngannou will do next. In an interview with Dwayne Johnson for the most recent installment of his well-liked podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience, the veteran UFC analyst shared his opinions on what the former UFC heavyweight champ should do next.

“Get as much money as you can,” Rogan said. “This is what I think they should do. Put him in with a heavyweight boxer that he can beat who has a good record. Someone who’s in the argument of a top ten [ranking], and if Francis knocks that guy out, they can try to coax Tyson Fury into a rematch.

“That would be f*cking bananas and I think Saudi Arabia has enough money to actually pull it off. They might be able to bait Tyson in with some life-changing generational money.”

Despite suffering cuts, bruises, and knockdowns throughout the ten-round fight, Fury emerged victorious via split decision.

Even though he had another victory under his belt when he left Riyadh, his standing as the world’s best boxer suffered a significant blow. If they were to decide to run it again, Rogan thinks “The Gypsy King” would take a different tack.

“He certainly underestimated Francis,” Rogan said. “I don’t know how he trained for Francis. He said he trained as hard as ever, which is possible because he always looks that way. Like Fedor [Emelianenko], he has this very disarming body and he jokes around about it. He’s a character. I love the guy to death, but I think if he knows now what he’s up against and he just boxes with a real understanding of the consequences of making a mistake, I think it’s probably a different fight.

Rogan continued, “One of the things you see from Tyson Fury when he does have a rematch, he performs so much better. Like the Deontay Wilder fight. Perfect example. First fight, down to the wire. Dropped in the last round. It’s a draw. Second fight, dominates. Third fight, dominant.”

The Rock thinks Tyson Fury might pursue a rematch with Francis Ngannou due to his “champion mentality.”
Dwayne Johnson offered his thoughts on a possible rematch, saying that Tyson Fury might be inclined to accept the bout to show himself that he can recover and thoroughly beat Francis Ngannou, leaving no doubt as to who will win.

“There’s two trains of thought here,” Johnson said. “One is, ‘I don’t actually need to fight him again.’ There’s that train of thought, but then I wonder if he goes back to the champion mentality where, ‘As a champion, I need to fight that guy.’”

He added, “With Tyson, it just feels like [in his head], it’s a fight that I need. Just in terms of… As champion, the mentality. The feeling that’s in here, the mana. I need to do that again.”

Tyson Fury is currently preparing for his fight on February 17 against Oleksandr Usyk to unify the titles. Ngannou is currently officially ranked among the top ten in the WBC, so the victor might eventually face the Cameroonian.
