Internationals: Martinelli scores Brazil’s first goal

Gabriel Martinelli scored an incredible goal on Thursday night to officially make his debut for the Brazilian national team.

Gabriel Jesus was not included in the squad, and Gabriel Magalhães was substituted in the 82nd minute of Brazil’s 2-1 loss to Colombia, dropping them to fifth in FIFA World Cup 26 qualifying.

In Group A of the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifiers, David Raya made his competitive debut for Spain against Cyprus, winning 3-1 on the road to record six victories out of seven.

Jorginho did not score in the first half of Italy’s 5-2 victory over North Macedonia despite playing 62 minutes. The outcome sets up an exciting Monday night match between Italy and Ukraine, Jorginho and Oleksandr Zinchenko, who are currently tied on points.

Jakub Kiwior played ninety minutes in Friday’s 1-1 draw between Poland and the Czech Republic at home. Poland can still make it to Euro 2024 as a result of the outcome, but they will need to at least draw their last group match against Latvia and hope that Czechia loses to Moldova on Monday night.

Declan Rice and Bukayo Saka entered the game in the 46th and 61st minutes of England’s 2-0 victory over Malta at home, respectively. With 19 points from seven games, the Three Lions appear to be comfortably leading Group C.

In Egypt’s World Cup qualifying match against Djibouti, Mohamed Elneny played the full ninety minutes. Egypt won 6-0, with four goals coming from Mohamed Salah.

After an hour, Leandro Trossard entered the game as Belgium defeated Serbia 1-0 in a friendly at home on Wednesday.

During Estonia’s 2-0 loss to Austria at home, Karl Hein was in goal. The Euro qualifiers had already seen Estonia eliminated.

Takehiro Tomiyasu did not play in Japan’s 5-0 victory over Myanmar, and Alex Runarsson did not play in Iceland’s 4-2 loss to Slovakia on the road.
