An offensive lineman for the Wolverines, sustained a serious injury on Saturday when his parents hurried to the field to see their son, who was taken off.

Following a serious injury to Michigan’s offensive lineman Zak Zinter, the game between the Wolverines and Ohio State was momentarily stopped on Saturday.

Zinter had to use a cart to get off the field as broadcaster FOX declined to play replays of the event.

Zinter was blocking when a player from Ohio State landed hard on his twisted leg.

While Michigan players were leaving the sidelines to cheer on their teammate, his parents were racing down to the pitch to meet their son.

The Michigan supporters stood when Zinter was able to sit up on a stretcher and received a standing ovation.

On the sidelines, Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy was seen hugging Zinter’s parents.

After their son was wheeled off the field, Zinter’s parents were seen hugging Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy.

Blake Corum was the next player to score a touchdown in a poignant moment.

Despite having the option to enter the NFL draft last year, Zinter chose to stay with the Wolverines and try to win a national title with Jim Harbaugh.
