Funny As Survey Shows The most annoying NYG players in 2023, according to a Giants survey

The New York Giants, who play in an NFC conference with a lot of elite teams, will try to mount an unexpected comeback to reclaim their spot in the postseason.

A recent fan survey by The Athletic revealed that the offensive line was partially to blame, with right tackle Evan Neal receiving the most criticis

Beat journalists Dan Duggan and Charlotte Carroll counted 2,744 comments, and an astounding 5.94% of fans said that the former first-round blocker “has been the source of the most frustration” in 2023.

Daniel Jones, the quarterback, came in second place with 31.5% of the vote; no other player scored higher than 4% in this poll. Naturally, these findings are not wholly unexpected.

Neal has not only behaved like a bust off the field, but he has also performed like one on it.

When responding to this survey, fans probably recalled his derogatory remarks from earlier in the season. Neal called the Giants fans who were jeering them following their Monday Night Football loss to the Seattle Seahawks “sheep” and “bandwagoners”.

The child received backlash for suggesting that his detractors “flip hot dogs and hamburgers somewhere.”

Soon after, Don La Greca, the radio presenter for ESPN NYC, went off on Neal in a widely shared tirade. Neal then apologized. Regretfully, most New Yorkers found his words to be too little, too late.

Neal’s lack of progress has also been a problem and is a clear source of annoyance.

The top-ten pick hasn’t performed up to his draft status thus far, whether it’s because of bothersome injuries or subpar pass defense. Tyre Phillips, a journeyman, has actually performed better than him since rejoining the company.

During his bye week press conference, NYG general manager Joe Schoen stated, “Evan [Neal] needs to play better.” He is aware of that. We want to see him return here when he’s well, but I have a feeling he would acknowledge that there are some things he could do better, so we’ll see him keep getting better.

Neal may have a tough time repairing his reputation before the end of his rookie deal because of the dramatics off the field and his troubles on it. When the Giants return in Week 14, assuming he can play, the Alabama product will go into the last month of his second season.

Bleacher Report proposed, team-by-team in a Week 13 analysis, that the Giants select Oklahoma tackle Tyler Guyton in the 2024 draft, primarily because of Neal.

The B/R crew commented, “The front office should look to find another option at right tackle as Evan Neal has infamously not worked out with the G-Men.” Given that he now has a third-round grade on B/R’s NFL draft big board, Guyton would be a worthwhile target.

Brandon Thorn, a draft scout for Bleacher Report, described the 6-foot-7 blocker as a “steady riser,” praising his “very good athletic ability and tone-setting demeanor to impose his will on the majority of reps.”

Guyton is a fascinating player to keep an eye on as the Giants hunt for insurance plans on Neal, even though there’s no guarantee he’ll declare in the spring of 2024. Fans seem to think that’s a high priority.

In the aforementioned The Athletic survey, 82.6% of fans stated that the offensive line is the Giants’ “biggest need outside of QB.” “Ofensive playmakers” (TE, RB, and WR) were the only other position group to garner more than 2% of the vote, with 13.4%.
