Hamilton: Winning a Red Bull championship “does nothing for me” And The Red Bull Move Is….

Despite his experience with Mercedes, the British driver is adamant about winning an eighth World Championship, and he does not think that winning in a Red Bull would mean much to him.

Chasing his eighth World Championship, Lewis Hamilton feels that it “would not do much for me” in a powerful Red Bull team.

In 2023, Hamilton missed out on a race for the second consecutive season as Mercedes’ W14 design left it far behind Red Bull and Max Verstappen.

For the first time since 2011, the once-unbeatable team was unable to win as well. Toto Wolff, the team’s manager, has promised a revolution for the 2024 W15 car, which Hamilton is hoping would help him win his seventh Drivers’ title and eighth overall.

The seven-time champion hasn’t won since the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in 2021, and during the weekend of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, rumors that Hamilton had made contact with Red Bull were categorically denied. Hamilton instead signed a new two-year deal for 2024 and 2025 earlier in the year.

He believes that rebuilding Mercedes into a title-winning outfit would be better for his legacy than simply stepping into the Red Bull.

Hamilton on Red Bull move

“Considering the signing, it has demonstrated my dedication to the team,” Hamilton told reporters, including RacingNews365.

“Let’s be honest, every driver competing here wants to drive a winning car. In my younger years, when I may not have achieved much success at McLaren, I believe that was a much more alluring prospect.

From a racing standpoint, though, I appreciated coming to this team after leaving a more successful team in order to work toward our shared goal of team growth and development. There was just something so much wonderful about that experience.

“any motorist in this area looks at the Red Bull vehicle and wishes they could drive one; I’m not saying that I wouldn’t, but any driver would agree that it’s an excellent vehicle.

“Being that automobile will be a far greater sensation than getting into the nicest car, especially after the past two challenging years.

“In terms of getting into the most dominant car ever made, that wouldn’t do anything for me.

“Working with my team to build and be able to beat them, that would be better for my legacy.”
