Green Bay Packers: “I think he is playing his best game now”, Sources leads to new signing…

The center position for the Green Bay Packers isn’t an area of weakness anymore.

(Via Zach Krause) of the Packers’ wire, center Josh Myers is the number six overall center by Pro Football Focus (PFF) over the last four games.

Do you recall when the Packers’ content creators dissected video every week, identifying individuals such as Josh Myers and Royce Newman as offensive line weaknesses? That is no longer the case, as Myers is beginning to resemble the player Green Bay selected in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, and Newman, who fills in as a backup, hasn’t played much this year.

What Josh Myers’ Strong Play Means for the Green Bay Packers

Everything has been going well for the Green and Gold since Thanksgiving. The offensive line has looked strong, the receivers have stepped up, Jordan Love has looked like a franchise quarterback, and the defense is keeping opponents at bay.

However, none has been as essential to the group’s accomplishments as Josh Myers. Local beat reporters chastised Myers a year ago for not being a suitable successor to his predecessor. Corey Linsley. Numerous people considered the Myers pick to be a “bust,” with fans and the local media believing that Kansas City Chiefs C Creed Humphrey was the superior prospect.

Now it’s Myers, helping Jordan Love look like the next guy in Green Bay. Last month, Myers received praise from GM Brian Gutekunst about his play

” I think Josh Myers is playing his best football since he’s been here.” Gutekunst said.

Myers is regarded as the offensive line’s leader by offensive coordinator and former offensive line coach Adam Stenavich.

“From a locker-room standpoint, he’s really taken a big leadership role in the offensive line. Stenavich said on November 3. “As the center, that’s a very very important thing. He’s done a good job getting the table, set, calls, all that stuff. From a leadership standpoint, that’s been awesome. And then on the field, he’s been playing with good physicality, he’s moving really well doing a better job in pass pro using his hands, and playing in good phase, so he’s doing a good job.

Offensive Line Coach Luke Butkus shared the same sentiment last month. (Via Bill Huber SI)

“He is becoming more self-assured.” Butkus stated. Josh is a conceited man. He’s rough, huge, and strong. He’s now beginning to gain confidence in his footwork, balance, and overall comprehension of the game strategy. It’s encouraging to see the confidence he’s playing with because, as we’ve said before, consistency is key, and he needs to play with it, but he is flashing.

It’s interesting to note that three well-known Packers officials declared to the public a month ago that Josh Myers was playing some of his greatest football. However, the belief that he was awful and that the squad ought to have selected Creed Humphrey persisted among the followers and content producers.

However, without Josh Myers performing at the peak of his game at the same time, Jordan Love would not develop to the extent that we are witnessing it now.
