Big News As The 6’6 310 OT chose the Sooners over USC, Ole Miss, & others, “I wanted to become a part of one of the blue bloods of college football,” But…

Oklahoma still has a game left on the schedule, but the reinforcements are already piling in. The Sooners added a big one on Wednesday, receiving a commitment from former Michigan State offensive tackle Spencer Brown

The 6’6 310 OT chose the Sooners over USC, Ole Miss, & others

Brown, who has one year remaining on his eligibility, choose the Sooners over a plethora of prestigious universities, including USC and Ole Miss. With seasoned players on both sides to replace, Bill Bedenbaugh’s team will benefit greatly from the 6-foot-6, 310-pound lineman. As Oklahoma looks to replace fifth-year senior Walter Rouse on the right side of the line, he’ll give them an instant replacement. Brown told On3, “I wanted to be a part of one of the blue bloods of college football.” “I think Coaches Venables and Bedenbaugh are excellent mentors who can help me become a better player, teammate, and person in general off the field.” The past two seasons, Brown has started for  the Spartans and was one of the lone bright spots in Michigan State’s offensive operation.

In his four-year career with the Spartans, Brown started 25 games and provided a spot of consistency up front. He has shown versatility to move around and slot in at different spots, but primarily played right tackle. That’s the spot he would likely fill in for with the Sooners

As it makes the move to the SEC, Oklahoma has been wanting to bolster its linebacker corps, and a big offensive tackle most definitely fits the description. Brent Venables and company have committed to this transfer gateway on its first attempt, and it won’t be their last.
