What A Huge Offer As Michigan Recruitment Team Outline Terms And Conditions For The Renewal Of Jim Harbaugh`s Contract Extension With Interesting Caveat

Michigan is allegedly focusing on keeping its head coach, while Jim Harbaugh and the Wolverines get ready for their semifinal College Football Playoff game against Alabama next month.

For the second season in a row, Harbaugh has been connected to the NFL, and in the upcoming summer, a number of teams may consider selecting the former coach of the San Francisco 49ers as a replacement.

Richard Johnson of Sports Illustrated claims that the institution is negotiating a five-year deal that will pay the seasoned coach up to $11 million year.

But the deal would reportedly include the stipulation that Harbaugh will not pursue an NFL job during the term of the contract.

Yahoo Sports also reported that talks are still ongoing, and a finalized deal isn’t expected any time soon.

The reports come following a tumultuous regular season for the coach.

Following the completion of a three-game suspension that the school had imposed at the beginning of the season due to NCAA recruiting violations, Harbaugh was once more facing a three-game suspension at the end of the season as a result of an investigation into a sign-stealing scheme involving Connor Stalions, a former low-level employee.

Though Harbaugh first disputed the suspension, he eventually consented to the prohibition.

Michigan defeated Iowa 26-0 to wrap off an 11-0 season and capture its third consecutive conference title. Now, the Wolverines will go for their first national championship since 1997.

Harbaugh has been mentioned as a possible applicant for a number of current or upcoming head coaching positions.

The Chicago Bears and Carolina Panthers are two of the teams that are being discussed. Another possibility could arise from rumors regarding Bill Belichick’s status with the New England Patriots for the upcoming season.

Prior to Frank Reich taking over for Matt Rhule, who was dismissed a few weeks into the 2022 season following two losing seasons and a 1-4 record to begin his final season with the team, Harbaugh was reportedly in talks with the Panthers.
