So Emotional As Auburn DB Pens Down An Emotional Farewell Message To The Auburn Tigers Team.

Nehemiah Pritchett, a defensive back, was one of three Auburn players who chose not to play in the Tigers’ bowl game on December 30, as stated by Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze on Saturday. Pritchett verified the story on social media.

Pritchett bid Auburn farewell on Instagram by writing, “I will not be participating in our upcoming bowl game because I will be focusing on preparing for the 2024 NFL Draft.”

One of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life was to attend Auburn University, Pritchett wrote. “Playing football at this university and earning a degree were undoubtedly two of my greatest blessings. I will always carry the memories I had at Auburn University with me as I pursue my goals.

As a three-star athlete out of Jackson, Pritchett was recruited and came to The Plains in 2019. He chose Auburn over other universities, including Virginia Tech, Ole Miss, Appalachian State, Indiana, and Nebraska.

Pritchett had to decide whether to return to Auburn or turn pro last season. In the end, he went with the latter.

Pritchett played in nine games during the 2023 regular season after missing the first three due to an injury that was not made public. Pritchett recorded 22 tackles, three pass breakups, and one interception in those nine games. His season grade of 71.1 from Pro Football Focus came from allowing just one score on 26 targets.

Pritchett is ranked two spots behind his teammate DJ James as the 14th-best cornerback in the 2024 NFL Draft by PFF.
