Breaking: Following the Titans’ loss to the Texans, Derrick Henry is brutally honest about the team’s playoff elimination.

On the Titans’ elimination from the playoffs, Derrick Henry is candid.

Despite their best efforts, the Tennessee Titans were unable to hold off the Houston Texans in overtime, as they stole the victory. Sadly, Tennessee was knocked out of the playoffs by the loss. Derrick Henry discussed his thoughts on the season after the game.

Up until this game, the Titans technically still had a chance to qualify for the postseason. According to team writer Jim Wyatt, Henry reveals that the entire organization believed they could have qualified for the postseason had they prevailed. Derrick Henry thinks Tennessee can still win and “end the season on a high note” in spite of the heartbreaking defeat.

If we prevailed, we thought we would have a chance to sneak in. Knowing we have three (games) remaining makes it difficult. You can taste something foul in your tongue. However, we still have three games left, so we need to give it our all to win them and end the season well.

Throughout the whole game, the Titans were unable to generate any offensive momentum. After 16 carries, Derrick Henry managed a pitiful nine yards for the day’s total. The Texans were getting into the backfield all the time. The offensive coordinator for Tennessee incessantly called run plays for some reason.

The Titans’ offensive line, which is perhaps the worst in the league, doesn’t help either. During the offseason, the front office will have several tasks to complete. In the hopes that Will Levis can really succeed in the NFL, the team should develop around him.

The Seattle Seahawks, Houston Texans, and Jacksonville Jaguars are the final three teams on the schedule. Now that the Titans are out of the playoffs, their only concern is the pick they will have in the NFL Draft of 2024.
