Good News: Kansas City Chiefs Unexpectedly Regain Offensive Weapon One Week After Surgery

One week after undergoing shoulder surgery, an offensive weapon for the Kansas City Chiefs is expected to return to the starting lineup. The Chiefs are preparing for their Christmas Day game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

Despite defeating the New England Patriots on Sunday to end a two-game losing run, the Chiefs continue to struggle with their wide outs. Following his Sunday drop that resulted in a Patriots interception, wide receiver Kadarius Toney was placed on the team’s bench, according to head coach Andy Reid.

The Kansas City Chiefs will get their RB1 back

In their last two games, the Chiefs have failed to use their best running back option. Isiah Pacheco had a shoulder injury against the Green Bay Packers last week, which required surgery. Reid stated that, absent an unforeseen circumstance, Pacheco would play against the Raiders this week, according to Pete Sweeney of Arrowhead Pride.

“He’ll be back this week. He’ll be good to go this week, unless there’s further setbacks. But right now, everything’s positive for him to go.”

RB Isiah Pacheco (shoulder) will return this week, according to Andy Reid. If there are no more setbacks, he should be OK this week. However, everything is currently in favor of him leaving.”

With Pacheco back in the mix, the Chiefs attack will be considerably more potent. This season, Pacheco is averaging 4.4 yards per carry. Clyde Edwards-Helaire, the backup running back, is averaging 3.4 yards per rush.
