Emotional Report: Titans Legendary RB set to leave the club after making his intentions known to the team, and he had this to say….

Tennessee Titans standout running back Derrick Henry has been one of the league’s greatest runners throughout his career. This season, he has been in various reports suggesting that he will not continue with the organization after this season as he will be a free agency in 2024. During the October trade deadline, he was one of the most talked about players, but no team was able to convince him to sign a deal. But Henry appeared to give away a lot about what he plans to do once the 2023 season ends.

Henry was asked about what he thinks his future will be in the NFL after this season, and he had this to say:

“I’ve been here my whole career. I definitely want to go out strong, which isn’t the case. Just trying to give it my all these last three games and leave it all on the field.”

Although he does not officially respond to questions about whether or not he will be a Titan for the upcoming season, it sounds from this comment that he plans to sign with a new team in 2024. Ever since he entered the league in 2016, Henry has been the greatest player for Tennessee. Throughout his eight-year tenure with the Titans, he has been a tremendous player each and every season.

Over the course of his career, the standout running back has amassed 1,980 touches, 9,219 rushing yards, and 88 touchdowns. He has over 1,000 rushing yards in four seasons, and in 2020, he even had a season with over 2,000 yards. In addition, Henry has 1,447 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns, which is a remarkable total for any running back. He has also passed for 25 yards and three throwing scores.

Henry was in recent trade talks with the Baltimore Ravens during the peak of the NFL trade deadline this season, and a deal was reportedly finalized for him to leave Tennessee. Unfortunately for the Ravens, the Titans’ ownership and management changed their minds at the last minute, and the deal was revoked. Even though the Titans did not end up trading him, it showed that they have an interest in dealing him away in the near future.

Tennessee is in last place in the AFC South division with a record of 5-9. Henry may have even more motivation to look for other chances in the offseason after their devastating overtime defeat to the Houston Texans this past week officially removed them from playoff contention. Will 2024 find the standout running back playing for a different team, or will he play one more season with the Titans?
