The 49ers are in a difficult predicament as they prepare to play the Ravens without several key players.

SANTA CLARA: The 49ers are hoping to have a key member of their defensive line back for their “Monday Night Football” encounter at Levi’s Stadium against the Baltimore Ravens.

Kyle Shanahan announced on Saturday that Javon Hargrave, who made a limited comeback to practice on Friday, has been declared doubtful to participate in the match. The team’s run defense, which suffered without the interior defensive lineman during their Week 15 victory against the Arizona Cardinals, is a crucial component of the unit.

Arik Armstead is still out of commission as he recovers from a foot and knee injury. Alongside Hargrave, Javon Kinlaw and Kevin Givens will see more playing time as the Ravens attempt to stop quarterback Lamar Jackson, who is also their best rusher.

Regarding Armstead’s injury, Shanahan stated on Saturday, “Yes, we are concerned.” Although I would say it’s more of a foot issue than a knee issue, we do believe he has a shot each week. It’s been bothering him for a short while. All I can hope for is a reduction in the pain.

The 49ers’ offensive line will be without Jauan Jennings, who is still undergoing the NFL’s concussion protocol, on the other side of the ball. This season, the 49ers’ third-best receiver has 19 receptions for 265 yards and one touchdown, but his role as a run-blocker is arguably more important.

Elijah Mitchell, the backup running back who has started nine games this year, may make a comeback to the field to provide a change of pace behind Christian McCaffrey. The 49ers’ victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 13 marked the ball carrier’s final appearance.

There are no longer any designated injuries for defensive lineman Clelin Ferrell (ankle), offensive lineman Spencer Burford (knee), cornerback Deommodore Lenoir (ribs), and offensive lineman Ben Bartch (finger) for the game.

Oren Burks, a prominent special teams player and linebacker, is still out with a knee injury, while Ross Dwelley is still out due to an ankle ailment.

Tight end Jake Tonges, safety Erik Harris, and cornerback Jason Verrett were the week’s best players on the Scout team.

The official game status report for Monday night’s 49ers versus Ravens is as follows:

DT Arik Armstead (foot/knee)

WR Jauan Jennings (concussion protocol)

LB Oren Burks (knee)

TE Ross Dwelley (ankle)

Questionable
