Breaking: “We are keeping him”, The Huskers extend an offer to excellent Linebacker….

Nebraska football offered a transfer portal linebacker on Sunday.

Sunday, Nebraska football extended an offer to a promising young linebacker who had just entered the transfer portal.

After using the transfer portal earlier this week, Idaho linebacker transfer Xe’ree Alexander announced an offer from Nebraska on Sunday.

Last season, Phil Steele named the 6-foot-2, 215-pound Alexander to the first team of the freshman All-America team. In 13 games the previous season, Alexander recorded 75 tackles, four tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery.

Alexander, a native of Auburn, Washington, has also added offers from Washington, Louisiana Tech, UCF, Minnesota, UConn, Kansas, Montana State, Oregon State, Cal, Washington and others since entering the transfer portal.

During his high school recruiting process, Alexander had been a long-time Arizona State before signing with Idaho over offers from Hawaii and others.

For the Huskers, who are short on roster space yet still need to fill a few positions, the offer is significant. The Huskers lost veteran linebackers Luke Reimer and Nick Henrich from the previous campaign, while Eric Fields, a rookie, is no longer a part of the team.

Alexander will still be eligible for this next location for three more seasons.
