Update: Tension as Lamar Jackson of the Ravens’ blasts reporter for a disrespectful prediction after win vs. 49ers

Lamar Jackson is tired of the disrespect

It appears that Mike Florio has paid a price for his remarks. Before their much-anticipated Christmas Day game, the host and reporter of a football talk show recently went on a profanity-filled rage, saying that the San Francisco 49ers will “kick the sh**” out of the Baltimore Ravens. The exact opposite took place.

Thanks in large part to Lamar Jackson’s outstanding performance, the Ravens easily won 33-19. Jackson made it known to everyone in the building following the game that he would take Florio’s remarks seriously.

“You can’t just discredit us,” Jackson said via, JPA Football. “We’re grown men. We’ve got to feed our families. He can have his opinion but just don’t (keep) talking like that. That’s disrespectful. That’s very disrespectful.”

It seems like Jackson took that prediction personally. The star quarterback finished with 252 passing yards on 23 of 35 attempts and two touchdowns. He also added 45 rushing yards on seven carries.

Jackson continued his post-game comments, commending the 49ers’ achievements but at the same time making it clear that the Ravens’ record should be given the same amount of respect as San Francisco’s.

“Not to take away (anything) from the 49ers at all because they’re great all across the board, but we’re going to come and play as well. Our record is no fluke. We play ball — and we showed that.”

The former MVP said that if Florio ever put on a uniform and took the field, his viewpoint would shift.

“He doesn’t wear padding. It would have been different had he been wearing pads. That is not what he would have said. Both our opponents and ourselves have demonstrated respect for one another. But a man just comes out being disrespectful when he’s not even playing against us? He probably want more viewers for his tiny channel.

Lamar Jackson responded with a significant victory by keeping receipts. Moving forward, Florio may want to be a little more cautious (and considerably less aggressive) with his forecasts, since the Ravens supporters are predicted to respond with increased venom.
