Great News: “Let’s Work” Top Rated LB From Syracuse Declares As He Commits To The Huskers With…

An addition to a much-needed job.

Today, linebacker Stefon Thompson of Syracuse revealed his intention to transfer to Nebraska football, adding YET ANOTHER player to the Huskers roster.

He participated in 10 games during his rookie season (first year in 2020, the Covid year), recording 35 tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, and 3 sacks.

In 2021, Thompson started every game for Syracuse at linebacker. With 79 tackles, 6 sacks, and 8 tackles for loss, he ranked second on the team.

He played in every game in 2023 despite suffering a season-ending injury in the opening game of 2022. In all, he recorded 52 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 4 tackles for loss, and one forced fumble.

All altogether, he’s appeared in 36 games with 21 starts, with 169 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks, and four forced fumbles.

He possesses experience!

Nick Heinrich and Luke Reimer both have departments, so Nebraska gains some depth at linebacker.

Thompson still has two seasons left to be eligible.
