Just In: “Could He Be The Solution”? As Raiders Flips Top Talent to Set Up Interviews for ….

Midway through the 2023 season, the Raiders made some internal changes, and they are currently looking for a new general manager.

The Las Vegas Raiders are restarting when it comes to their leadership regime again this summer, and while they may already have their head coach on board in Antonio Pierce, their general manager post is wide open. To fill the role, a comprehensive search will be carried out, and it appears that the team has scheduled interviews for a number of applicants already.

During their previous hiring cycle, the Raiders selected Dave Ziegler as general manager and Josh McDaniels as head coach simultaneously. The squad won’t use the same approach this time, though, as they’ve already decided to examine two outside candidates in addition to Champ Kelly, who serves as their acting general manager.

According to Ian Rapoport:

According to sources, the Raiders will interview Bills director of player personnel Terrance Grey and Colts deputy general manager Ed Dodds today for their general manager search. GM Champ Kelly, the interim, will be interviewed tomorrow. Had Dodds been the GM hired by Las Vegas the previous time, it wouldn’t have been the coach. He’s a very good contender.

The Raiders will be hoping to get their GM pick right this time around

The Raiders have struggled in the past with head coach and general manager appointments; they will be hoping for better luck this time. While Kelly didn’t have as much of an opportunity to establish himself as the general manager, he may not have as much of a chance to stay as the team’s head coach going ahead.

In light of this, Ed Dodds, the assistant general manager of the Indianapolis Colts, appears to be the front-runner to get the position at this time, although hirings can go any way. Although Pierce is interviewing for the head coaching position with the Tennessee Titans, Las Vegas is keen on getting a general manager as quickly as possible, so it will be interesting to watch how their interview process plays out.
