Even though the Bengals won’t be participating in the Super Bowl in February, a devoted Bengals supporter will be present to watch the action. One set of tickets to the major game was given away by the Bengals, and it will go to a season ticket holder who has been a fan for a long time.
George Klopp Sr. can still clearly recall his 1968 Bengals debut. For the 97-year-old World War II veteran, it was the first of many exhibition games versus the Kansas City Chiefs.
Since then, Klopp has attended practically every Bengals home game.
He remembers the Bengals’ 1980 Super Bowl runs and the Freezer Bowl, which took place in a freezing wind versus the San Diego Chargers. Now that he gets to see the biggest game of them all, Klopp has been present for the greatest events in NFL history.
Before the Week 18 finale against the Cleveland Browns, supporters who correctly answered Bengals trivia questions at a tailgate were also given a pair of Super Bowl tickets by Elizabeth Blackburn, director of engagement for the Bengals.
Enjoy yourselves, George!
