Breaking News: The Kansas City Chiefs Sign Excellent Defensive “Enforcer” Before the Buffalo Bills Clash And….

Before facing the Buffalo Bills this weekend in the Divisional Round of the NFL, the Kansas City Chiefs strengthened their defense on Tuesday. This move will support the secondary’s post-season run-stopping defensive scheme.

The Bills defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 31–17 thanks to a potent rushing attack. The Bills outgained the Steelers in running for 179 yards. On Sunday, they’ll try to run the ball and manage the clock against the Chiefs.

The Kansas City Chiefs sign a safety

Trey Dean, Florida, Safety

Bryan Cook, a safety, was placed on injured reserve by the Chiefs in December. He won’t be playing for the Chiefs in the postseason. The team added a player to the safety room Tuesday. According to Aaron Wilson with KPRC, the Chiefs signed undrafted rookie Trey Dean to the 53-man roster.

Dean spent the regular season on the New York Jets practice squad before the Chiefs poached him this week.

According to Dean’s Sports Illustrated draft profile, the former Florida standout is most effective as a run defender:

Excellent run support player who has a terrific feel for hitting ball carriers with a bang. Accurately places the ball at or close to the line of scrimmage. Rough coverage skills make it difficult to see how route conceptions evolve.

If he wants to see more snaps in 2021, a go-for-broke tackler who benefits from huge hits will have to concentrate more on tying up ball carriers. A raw safety whose best opportunity will be in the box at the next level, where he can act as a defense enforcer.

If the Chiefs ask Dean to play after he signed with the team the day before the first practice of the week, he will have a difficult assignment ahead of him against the Bills on Sunday.
