For the next elite junior day weekend, Nebraska football will welcome another significant guest: 2025 Top247 receiver Cortez Mills, who is making his first trip to Nebraska.

Cortez Mills, a superb recruit from Homestead High School in Florida, is ranked as a Top247 wide receiver. He knows that things are becoming fascinating in Lincoln, and he wants to witness it for himself.

Having missed a visit to Lincoln last autumn, Mills—who has multiple ties to the Nebraska program—told Husker247 that he intends to return this spring. However, he is arriving earlier than anticipated.

A 6-foot-1, 170-pound athlete, Mills has drawn a lot of attention and passes at Homestead over the previous few years. The receiver currently has 27 bids and is receiving additional inquiries daily.

“I believe that Florida State, Michigan, Clemson, LSU, Colorado, Georgia, and the Florida Gators are pursuing me closely,” Mills stated. It feels fantastic. It demonstrates that my efforts are paying off. All I have to do is keep working.

Ever since other local recruits in Florida began enrolling or committing to the Huskers, Nebraska has been on Mills’ radar. Additionally, Mills was a player for Phil Simpson, the defensive quality control coach at Nebraska and the head coach of Homestead from 2019 to 2022.

The four-star receiver is highly intrigued in the Huskers because of those connections and preliminary information about Matt Rhule and the rest of the coaching staff at Nebraska.

Mills is looking forward to the visit.

“Excited,” Mills exclaimed. “Just wanting to have a great time and learn a little bit more about Nebraska.”
