With lines out to performers in the upcoming three classes, Nebraska is also delving deeply into the position. Here is a look at Nebraska’s developing quarterback board for 2025 as well as some early uncommitted possibilities to keep an eye on.
2025
Alex Manske (Algona, Iowa): Before adding Texas A&M last month, the 6-foot-2, 210-pound prospect visited Nebraska several times in the fall and had been gathering regional Power Four offers. After an outstanding camp performance in Lincoln in June, he was awarded a Husker tender. Manske had a fantastic junior season, rushing for 701 yards and passing for 1,787 yards with 29 touchdowns against three interceptions.
Matt Zollers (Royersford, Pennsylvania): Since Nebraska extended an offer on January 15, the Philadelphia-area prospect has been on a roll. In the past few days, he has added Missouri, Kentucky, Florida, and Georgia to his list of eight new suitors. At 6-3 and 205 pounds, he is a composite four-star recruit with a track record of success that includes 5,505 career throwing yards and 64 touchdown passes against eight draft choices.
2026
Case Vanden Bosch (Phoenix): The Huskers extended their first Division I offer to the son of former Nebraska defensive line great Kyle Vanden Bosch in October 2022; since then, he has received offers from Arizona State and Iowa. Vanden Bosch, who is 6-2 and 170 pounds, visited Lincoln informally last spring.
Dayton Raiola (Buford, Georgia): Dylan Raiola’s younger brother played junior varsity basketball in Phoenix as a freshman and supported his brother at Buford the previous season. His only documented offers were from Mickey Joseph in October 2022 and Rhule in January of the following year, both in Nebraska. The left-hander has a powerful arm and is still developing into a 6-foot, 210-pound body.
Troy Huhn (San Marcos, California): After a varsity season in which he completed 133 of 223 passes for 1,623 yards and a 16-6 touchdown-to-interception ratio, the 6-4, 200-pound rising national recruit is getting close to double-digit offers. Along with Penn State and Arizona State, Nebraska entered the mix in May of last year, but a number of other national heavyweights are also keeping an eye on him.
Brady Smigiel ( Newbury Park, California): Even while Smigiel wasn’t a top quarterback in his class when Nebraska made an offer in May, he is now, as evidenced by the fact that he visited Oregon and Notre Dame this month and received over 20 offers, including those from Washington, UCLA, and Miami. With over 4,200 passing yards and 52 touchdowns to 14 interceptions in his second campaign, he lived up to the promise.
Dia Bell (Florida, Fort Lauderdale): Bell is the kind of Miami-area talent that the Huskers are digging. He has about twenty schools on his offer list, and this week at least five Power Four teams will be joining. In November, as he was wrapping off a season in which he completed over 65% of his throws for 1,929 yards and 20 touchdowns to four interceptions, NU offered the 6-foot-2, 190-pound player.
Noah Grubbs (Lake Mary, Florida): Grubbs visited Nebraska while he was in the eighth grade and received an offer from the University of Nebraska in November. After throwing for over 3,700 yards and a school-record 49 touchdowns (11 interceptions) in the previous season, he is now up to almost two dozen tenders.
Dereon Coleman (Florida, Orlando):The as-yet-unranked talent announced his acceptance to the University of Houston on Tuesday, bringing his total to 13, along with offers from Texas A&M, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Virginia Tech. The 6-foot-1, 160-pound player has quick feet; for Jones High School, he ran 65 times for 247 yards. He also recently completed a pass for 2,224 yards with 16 touchdowns and six interceptions.
Rees Wise(Austin, Texas): As the third school to make the move after UTEP and SMU, Nebraska extended an offer to the Westlake starter on Tuesday afternoon. In his big-school football debut, Wise looked impressive, finishing with 57% of his throws for 1,877 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. His attendance at Texas’ Junior Day last weekend suggests that he might someday pop.
2027
Trent Seaborn (Alabaster, Alabama): Nebraska’s previous staff offered Seaborn in December 2022 when he was in eighth grade. The QB broke out as the MaxPreps National Freshman of the Year, going 195-of-271 passing for 2,590 yards and 27 scores. He’s gotten more than a dozen offers already, including Alabama and Oregon.
Furian Inferrera (Santa Ana, California): The emerging Mater Dei star landed his Nebraska offer while visiting for the spring game last April. The Huskers are among his six early offers, along with Boston College, Hawaii and Oregon State. Pittsburgh tendered him in seventh grade. Inferrera as a freshman played behind four-star Stanford signee Elijah Brown.
Daniel Mielke (Ontario, California): Another national recruit in the making, Mielke has offers from Michigan and Georgia while Nebraska joined the list in May. His freshman year in the Los Angeles suburbs saw the 6-foot-3, 185-pounder throw for 2,483 yards with 21 touchdowns and six INTs.
Weston Nielsen (Bastrop, Texas): Prior to Baylor’s recruitment this week and Nebraska’s on Tuesday, Oregon was his only offer, which he accepted in September of last year. After a limited varsity rookie season in which he completed 55 of 98 passes across five games for 1,188 yards, 13 touchdowns, and five picks, Nielsen also just went on a tour of Texas.
