The Dunlap sophomore announced Wednesday night on social media that he accepted an offer from Nebraska. For Eddie Sutter, the son of a former NFL player, this is probably the first of many offers to come.

The 6-foot-5, 215-pound younger Sutter said on X.com, “Grateful to receive an offer at the University of Nebraska!”

The quarterback, linebacker, and wide receiver just finished a season in which he was voted first team all-Mid-Illini Conference and all-area linebacker by Journal Star. As a linebacker, he tallied 20 tackles and five tackles for loss. The Eagles, who finished 6-4 and were eliminated in the first round of the Class 6A playoffs, had Sutter to thank for 710 passing yards and eight touchdowns.

Big Ten football: Dunlap athlete, son of NFL player get Nebraska offer

In his opinion, the Huskers are more of a family team.

“One thing that makes this offer from Nebraska so exciting is that my cousin [PJ Mangieri] played football there as well, so it is a loved team in my family,” he stated.

The Mangieri brothers, P.J. (from Nebraska football), Nick (from Indiana football), Charlie (from Northwestern football), and Luke (from Bradley baseball), are Sutter’s relatives.

Sutter will shortly return to the Hawkeyes after visiting Wisconsin, Northwestern, Illinois, and Iowa in the autumn.
