The Nebraska football coaching staff is working to lock down some of the top prospects in the 2025 class now that January has arrived.Among them is one Cortez Mills, who is perhaps the best wide receiver prospect available to the Huskers in this cycle.

It was made clear to Mills that he likes the Nebraska football team and the coaching staff there. This past weekend, he attended the school’s inaugural Junior Day of 2024 in Lincoln. Head coach Matt Rhule paid Mills a visit to his hometown shortly after he departed Lincoln.

Shortly after Rhule’s arrival, Mills flaunted on social media how much he seemed to enjoy the visit. He shared a picture of the two hanging together and it seems like they got along great.

In addition to being one of the Huskers’ top targets for a long time, Mills is also said to have a Nebraska lean. It looks like Mills will eventually sign with the Cornhuskers as the cycle moves closer to the 2025 class’s Early Signing Day.

Mills is a 6-1 170-pound wide receiver from Homestead High School out of Homestead, Florida. The four-star prospect showed off what he could do as a junior and looks to only improve on that in his final season in high school. In 2023, Cortez Mills made 53 catches in 11 games for 1,136 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Nebraska football pushes relationship with Cortez Mills

It is anticipated that the gifted wide receiver will schedule an official visit with the Huskers. Of course, it’s possible that during their one-on-one meeting, he did just that.
