Just in: Kalen DeBoer is “the only coach he would play for,” according to a five-star wide receiver who committed to Alabama.

In a short amount of time, Alabama football is seeing a major impact from Kalen DeBoer.

Since his first press conference as head coach on January 13, he has assembled a coaching staff, kept key players on the squad, and convinced a five-star wide receiver to recommit to the Crimson Tide. Ryan Williams was re-engaged with Alabama as an explosive playmaker thanks to DeBoer’s assistance. The two-time Mr. Alabama Award winner is a Saraland (Ala.) High School alum. In terms of the 2024 recruiting class, he is possibly the top wide receiver and player in both Alabama and the entire country.

Williams spoke highly of DeBoer on Tuesday as he received the “Mr. Alabama” Award.

Regarding DeBoer, he declared that he “would not want to play for any other coach aside from Nick Saban.”

“After speaking with him, I can say that [Kalen DeBoer] is the most genuine and modest coach I’ve ever met,” Williams remarked.

“Coach Saban is the only head coach I would want to play for.”

Alabama supporters saw that head coach DeBoer can retain a highly regarded in-state receiver at home.

Watching Williams dominate in a red and white uniform is going to be exciting.
