Josh Allen was one of the league’s top defensive players for the Jacksonville Jaguars the previous season. He had a stellar year and played a major role in frequently shutting down the offenses of opponents. A season such as the one Allen just finished is typical of contract years; Allen will either be a free agent, sign a large deal, or be franchised by the Jaguars.
For the Jaguars, this offseason is very important. They really regressed from the previous season and almost missed the playoffs. None of the important must-dos can be missed. One of those is making sure Allen returns to teal for the upcoming season because he can only become better.
The Jaguars aren’t doing a great job of staying on top of things, though, as of yet. Allen would say that there hasn’t even been any communication between the two parties. After disclosing that they haven’t spoken, he was rather direct when he asked what he would like to say to the Jaguars.
Allen stated, “We need to talk,” during the Pro Bowl drill.
The Jaguars need a guy like Josh Allen on their team; he finished with 17.5 sacks, which is seven more than his previous career-high. If Allen leaves, the team won’t be able to produce a pass rush that is deserving of respect from other teams.
Josh Allen is what it means to be a Jaguar; if he doesn’t return for the upcoming season, it will be shocking and I wouldn’t be surprised if some fans get very upset.
