Commanders Advisor Had Telling Comment About Dan Quinn
The Washington Commanders hired former Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn as their head coach, albeit they were the last team to do so.
Having designed one of the league’s top defensive teams in Dallas, Quinn now brings his skills and knowledge to Washington, where he ought to have a significant influence on the starting lineup.
Quinn is a leader and motivator that the Commanders have sorely needed, and he ought to be able to take over and alter the culture right now.
During the 2023 NFL season, Washington traded some of its defensive pieces during the trade deadline, but the team still has draft picks to add to the roster.
Quinn could be taking over a rebuilding project, but he ought to be able to forge a distinct team identity and playing philosophy.
Doug Williams, a former senior advisor and franchise legend, offered nothing but praise for Quinn, according to Jake Russell of The Washington Post.
Let me tell you something, though: I think well of Dan Quinn,” Williams remarked. “Because I believe that everyone who played for Dan Quinn or worked here for the next few years would agree that the decision we made was the right one when they left.”
Williams is praising the new head coach highly, especially because he hasn’t yet left his mark on the group.
But it also speaks to Quinn’s character, who is well-liked throughout the league.
Quinn looks like a good bet to turn things around, though it might take a few years before Washington is competitive again.
