Domani Jackson, a former Trojan from Southern California, has chosen to join the Alabama Crimson Tide through the transfer portal, according to On3 Sports.

Jackson is a former Mater Dei high school defensive back prospect rated as a five-star prospect for the class of 2022. In his class, he was ranked as the fifth best player overall and as the best player in the state of California.

Over the previous two seasons, the 6-foot-1, 190-pound cornerback for the USC Trojans participated in 18 games. He has had four pass break-ups in addition to his 35 tackles.

Jackson reportedly switched back to the Tide and the Maize and Blue after choosing the transfer portal over Southern Cal, Alabama, and Michigan during his recruiting.

He was observed at Alabama’s Rose Bowl practice on Thursday, ahead of the Tide’s semifinal College Football Playoff matchup with the Wolverines.

He was once teammates with incoming freshman cornerback Zabien Brown and former Crimson Tide quarterback Bryce Young at Mater Dei Monarch.

With two more years of eligibility remaining, he will try to capitalize on the openings created by the anticipated NFL Draft declarations of cornerbacks Terrion Arnold and Kool-Aid McKinstry.

Jackson joins Alabama as the second defensive player and inductee via the transfer portal this cycle, following former Texas A&M defender LT Overton, who also chose to join Alabama through the site.

Given that Jackson and Overton both bring a wealth of high-level expertise to the table, the Crimson Tide will probably keep using the portal to choose players who can contribute right away to the 2024 squad.
