“I Want An Exit” Controversies Looms As The Fight For Supremacy Breaks The Jaguars Team…

Trevor Lawrence's Shocking Pro Bowl Absence, Explained - Gridiron Heroics

 Trevor Lawrence

The Jacksonville Jaguars will have to choose between two fifth-year options this offseason: Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne. Jacksonville is among the few clubs who must make this decision.

During the last two offseasons, the Jaguars have discussed openly the possibility of Lawrence receiving an early contract extension; Etienne, on the other hand, is currently expected to become a free agent after 2024.

What would the cost be if the Jaguars decide to select Lawrence or Etienne’s fifth-year option by this year’s May 2nd deadline? The numbers are clear in an analysis of each selection by The 33rd Team: Lawrence would cost $21,978,000 in 2025, while Etienne would have a $5,955,000 cap hit.

Lawrence completed 65.6% of his throws for 4,016 yards, 21 touchdowns, 14 interceptions, and seven fumble losses by the end of the season. Due to four separate injuries, Lawrence also missed his first career start and appeared to be limping to the end of the season.

Lawrence made 370 passes. He is the only quarterback in franchise history to begin his career with three seasons of at least 300 completions, and he is the second quarterback in franchise history to record at least 300 completions in three straight seasons.

Lawrence finished the previous season with at least 20 completions in 14 games. In the AFC, his 14 games with 20 or more completions placed third. Lawrence gained 7.1 yards on average for each throw attempt in 2023. Among AFC quarterbacks with at least 450 throw attempts, he was ranked seventh.
Travis Etienne set for a prime role in Jaguars offense - Big Cat Country

Travis Etienne

With 1,008 running yards (3.8 yards per carry) and 11 touchdowns, Etienne ended the season with his second straight 1,000-yard campaign. He also caught 58 passes for 476 yards and a touchdown.

From Week 5 to Week 7, Etienne scored at least two touchdowns on the ground in three consecutive games. He made team history by being the first player to score multiple touchdowns on the ground in three straight games during a season.

Etienne amassed 1,484 yards from scrimmage. He is one of only two Jaguars, along with running back Maurice Jones-Drew, to have 1,000 scrimmage yards in their first two NFL seasons of play. In the history of the Jaguars, Etienne is the third player to achieve 1,300 scrimmage yards in a row.
