Cornerback David Kuku of Kennewick (Wash.) Kamiakin has received five offers overall.

The Cougs extended Kuku their most recent offer last week, joining those from Arizona State, Boise State, Idaho, and Nebraska. Kuku also received an offer from Washington State.

The Broncos have one thing going for them: Gabe Tahir, a former teammate and cousin of Kuku, is a freshman cornerback for Boise State.

“I went to two games and the atmosphere was electrifying,” Kuku remarked. “I was like, ‘Wow,’ when I first arrived on campus. The student section was chanting, ‘I better come to Boise State,’ as I walked on the field before the warmup before the game, and they already knew me. I’ve been communicating with them quite a bit, as coach (Spencer) Danielson and I had a FaceTime conversation, and coach Chins (Erik Chinander) informed me that I am a major target on their board.”

Kuku has also received excellent recruiting advice from Arizona State.

“That was my third offer but coach (Bryan) Carrington said he’d been watching my film so we got on the phone and that got things rolling and the next thing you know, they offered me,” Kuku stated.

The first university to offer was Nebraska.

“Omar Hales (Nebraska’s director of player personnel) was who offered me and he sent my film to the coaches and they loved how I balled out,” Kuku said. “He said the corners coached loved my film and they wanted to offer me and that was a big one because it was my first one.”

Kuku hopes to tour Washington and Washington State in the spring and has planned trips to Cal, Oregon, Oregon State, and Penn State.

“We had a lot of schools come through and now I want to get out and see some,” Kuku added.

The 6-0, 170-pound athlete stated that he hopes to compete in the 177–180 pound category in his senior year.

According to 247Sports, Kuku is a three-star recruit who is ranked as the No. 12 talent in Washington in 2025 and the No. 89 cornerback overall.
