Breaking  News:Building a Stronger Defense: Cowboys make’s bold move to sign  an outstanding…

Texas’s Frisco Mike Zimmer isn’t wasting any time in assembling his team during his first week on the job.

The Cowboys revealed three new defensive line additions on Friday, one of whom was a previous first-round selection pick who was under Zimmer’s coaching.

The team has brought in three assistants, including run game coordinator Paul Guenther and Greg Ellis. The defensive line coach for the Cowboys is Jeff Zgonina.
With more than 20 years of NFL experience, Guenther has worked with Zimmer in Cincinnati and Minnesota on two separate occasions. He was elevated to defensive coordinator in 2014 after Zimmer was named head coach of the Vikings from linebackers coach for the Bengals. Guenther spent 2018–2020 as a DC for the Raiders as well.

Zgonina played for 17 years, from 1993 to 2009, and is now a seasoned coach.

In his coaching career, he has served as the head coach of the D-line for four clubs, most notably with Washington since 2020.

Alongside Zgonina as the defensive line coach will be Ellis.

Ellis, a 1998 first-round selection by the Cowboys, spent the first nine of his 11-year career with Zimmer as his assistant.

He has held head coaching positions at two NAIA schools, Southwest Assemblies of God University (SAGU) and Texas College.

On Wednesday, Zimmer was formally appointed defensive coordinator. In his place is Dan Quinn, who departed to take a position as head coach in Washington. The defensive coordinator in Seattle is none other than Aden Durde, the former defensive line coach for the Cowboys.

Quinn took Joe Whitt Jr., the coordinator of the team’s pass game and secondary, and Shariff Floyd, the assistant D-line coach, with him to the Commanders.
