Breaking News: The Director of athletics at Alabama, Greg Bryne, has disclosed that they may certainly lose their coach anytime soon due to…

Alabama Athletics Director Greg Byrne is expressing concern over the possibility of losing their esteemed coach to the NFL. With rumors swirling and speculation mounting, Byrne is wary of the allure that the professional league holds for their coaching staff. The NFL’s reputation as the pinnacle of football coaching presents a formidable temptation, and Byrne is keenly aware of the potential ramifications for Alabama’s program. As discussions continue behind closed doors, the university remains vigilant in their efforts to retain their coaching talent and uphold their esteemed legacy in collegiate athletics.

Greg Byrne, Alabama sports director, voiced alarm Friday about what he saw as a pattern of college coaches departing for the NFL.

“Yeah, I really am [concerned about the number],” Byrne remarked in an interview with Tide 100.9.

Byrne notably mentioned the departure of Boston College head coach Jeff Hafley to become the Green Bay Packers’ defensive coordinator.

“It’s certainly one of the less-resourced [head-coaching jobs out] there, and I don’t say that disparagingly at all — they’ve got a great program at Boston College,” Byrne told reporters. “But he departed to work as a defensive coordinator in the NFL. “You would never have considered that before.”

Byrne also mentioned Group of 5 head coaches leaving for assistant roles at the Power 5 level, including two to Alabama this offseason: Buffalo’s Maurice Linguist and South Alabama’s Kane Wommack. Shawn Elliott, the Georgia State coach, departed last week to become South Carolina’s tight ends coach and run game coordinator.
