The Calvin Ridley Facts the Jaguars Must Acknowledge

Calvin Ridley, the wide receiver, is the most intriguing question and problem facing the Jacksonville Jaguars front office this summer.

In fact, Ridley may be the Jaguars’ most nuanced and intricate offseason dilemma in a long time.

There are no doubts about the circumstances surrounding Ridley. The Jaguars’ second-round pick will be given to the Atlanta Falcons if they are unable to re-sign Ridley before the new league year kicks off on March 13 at 4 p.m.

The only pick the Jaguars owe the Falcons is their third-round selection if they hold out for Ridley until free agency opens.

Sounds simple, right? It is anything but.

Since Ridley’s compliments were signed by general manager Trent Baalke last month, the Jaguars have made it known that they want to keep him.

“Calvin pulled off some really impressive feats. Calvin Ridley is my fave. He is completely focused on the ball. He likes to play, practice, and the game, as you guys and women who were able to witness throughout practice can attest,” Baalke added.
