Good News: Cincinnati Bengals Gets Brightened Up As Key 5-Star Player Makes Long Recommitment To Team.

Bengals officially use franchise tag on WR Tee Higgins - Yahoo Sports

On Monday, the Bengals became the first team in the NFL to apply a franchise tag.

Tee Higgins, a wide receiver, was given the tag. If the Bengals choose not to accept an offer from another team for Higgins’ services, they will be entitled to match it and will also be awarded two first-round picks. If Higgins signs the tag, he will be guaranteed $21.816 million for the 2024 season; however, by July 15, he and the Bengals can discuss a multi-year contract.

Once Higgins signs the tag, the Bengals might move him to another club; however, head coach Zac Taylor’s remarks regarding the use of the tag suggested that Higgins will stay in Cincinnati.

“Since we selected him in the 2020 draft, Tee has performed incredibly well for us,” Taylor stated. “I’m happy he will still play a significant role in our offense and team.”
