This off-season, Currie plans to make a number of formal visits; five have already been scheduled.
One of the best two-sport athletes in the country, Adelaide Currie, a defensive back from Quartz Hill in Lancaster, California, is expected to have a busy spring and summer.
Currie is one of the best sprinters in the area and a quickly developing corner. He set personal records in the 100 and 200 meters as a sophomore, and he has high expectations for this season.
Currie remarked, “I really believe I can run in the 10.2 (100m) range.” That’s my aim, and I believe I can do it.
“My initial love was track, which I still love, but right now I’m very focused on football. I don’t want to do track at college, and since I want to graduate early the following year, this will probably be my final year of running.
When we watched him play last weekend at the Shock Doctor Legends 7v7 tournament, he was playing with greater confidence and physicality. He’s catching more footballs, and he has a lot of potential.
Regarding recruitment, Currie intends to be among the select few athletes who accepts more than five official visits. He’s actually already scheduled five dates and hopes to book a couple more soon.
On April 13, Texas A&M will have a first crack. Utah is scheduled for June 15, Washington on June 1, Miami for June 8, and Nebraska for April 27.
On March 30, Currie added, “I’m also going to Miami on an unofficial visit.” “That same weekend, I’m going to check things out; my sister has a track meet out there.
“I’m speaking with Cal, Oregon, and Texas as well, and they all want me to come down there on official business. Although I don’t currently have any dates for any of them, I’ll try to arrange them here shortly.
Currie discussed what makes the five colleges he presently schedules visits with stand out:
Nebraska: “I have a lot of respect for Tony White, the DC. He’s been to my practices and has put his trust in me as a player and knows what I can do. He knows how I play and knows me as a person, and I feel like I can come in and play early and be an impact guy.” Tony White was the DB coach at Nebraska before joining the team.
He is set to also visit: Texas A&M, Washington, Miami and Utah
Currie is currently rated the No. 183 player nationally in the Top247 and should continue to trend up throughout this recruiting cycle. He’s still learning the corner position but looks a lot more comfortable now then he did just a year ago.
When you combine his athletic frame and raw speed, there aren’t many players out West with as high a ceiling as Currie.
