With immediate effect, the 24-year-old has been released and will sign with a new club.
With immediate effect, South Sydney has released forward Daniel Suluka-Fifita from the remaining balance of his contract.
On Monday afternoon, the Rabbitohs announced their choice. Suluka-Fifita will sign a two-year contract with the Canterbury Bulldogs that will expire at the end of the 2025 campaign.
“Daniel is a tremendous young talent who has shown great potential coming through the pathways at Roosters and playing NRL at Souths,” Phil Gould stated in a statement.
“We are excited to have him at the Club and he will add great depth to our forwards.”
Suluka-Fifita left the Sydney Roosters in the middle of 2022, and he signed a deal with South Sydney that would expire at the end of the 2025 campaign.
Before making the cross-town transition that season, the 24-year-old appeared in seven games for the Roosters. He finished the year with five more NRL outings under his belt.
Last year, Suluka-Fifita participated in ten games in the Cardinal and Myrtle during his first full season with the Rabbitohs.
The Rabbitohs have revealed an instant switch for the 192cm, 112kg forward, who is now expected to join his third NRL side.
In a statement, South Sydney football manager Mark Ellison stated, “Daniel has been hampered by injury over the past two years but he has always put his best foot forward with the opportunities he has been given to wear the Rabbitohs jersey.”
“We wish Daniel and his family the best of luck for the future.”
The forward, who is presently rehabbing from an ACL injury, will join the Bulldogs at Belmore on Tuesday, the team revealed. However, he won’t be playing again until May.
