Dalton Knecht Wins SEC Player of the Year

Since the beginning of the season a few months ago, Tennessee guard Dalton Knechthas been ranked as the top player in the Southeastern Conference. The rookie Power-5 player averaged 21.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per game at the end of the regular season. With six attempts per game, he shot 40% from three-point range and 47% from the field.
A contender for the Naismith Player of the Year Award, which goes to the best college basketball player each year, is Knecht. Amidst a strong field, the Vols are ranked first in the SEC Tournament after winning the regular season championship. Even though the Vols had a successful season and set new records for the program, Knecht is the best player the team has had in a while.
He has always set the standard for a team that needed a reliable scorer when things got tight. Tennessee has gotten everything it could have possibly hoped in Knecht, and now he has some memorabilia to show for his hard work.
