Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott filed a lawsuit Monday in Collin County, Texas, against a woman and her attorneys for alleged extortion.Prescott received a letter in January from attorneys Bethel and Yoel Zehaie on behalf of the woman who accused the Cowboys quarterback. . .
According to the lawsuit filed Monday, Prescott states that “Despite the tragic events, he is willing [sic] to drop criminal charges and release this information to the public in exchange for compensation for the emotional distress caused to him. [His ] damages are $100,000,000 , 00 dollars.”
According to the lawsuit, Prescott is seeking more than $1 million in financial relief and plans to donate any winnings in the lawsuit to the Joyful Heart Foundation, or “like-minded organization.”The Joyful Heart Foundation is an organization whose mission is to “change society’s response to sexual harassment, domestic violence and child abuse, support healing for survivors and end this violence forever,” according to its website.
The lawyer of Prescott, Levi McCathern, released a statement acknowledging that it had denounced the allegations against the Cowboys quarterback.”Mr. Prescott – the girl’s new father – has great empathy for survivors of sexual assault, McCathern said.” He believes passionately that anyone who does such. crimes should be punished as far as possible. To be clear, Mr. Prescott has never had non-consensual sex with anyone. Lies hurt. Especially nasty lies. We will not allow the defendant and his legal team to extort millions from Mr. Prescott in this trial.”.
