NORFOLK, Neb. – Norfolk High senior Rowdy Bauer put pen to paper after signing with the Nebraska Cornhuskers. on Wednesday.Bauer finished the 2023 season with 719 yards and nine touchdowns on 110 carries.The Panthers tight end gained nearly 1,100 all-purpose yards and averaged more than 100 yards per game.In. . on the defensive side of the ball, Bauer recorded 27 tackles and an interception in 2023.
“The last few weeks have been a dream come true,” Bauer said. “It was a huge relief to accomplish something I always wanted to do.”Bauer received interest from other schools, including Wyoming, New Mexico and Louisiana-Monroe.When the Cornhuskers were involved, Bauer told Nebraska. head football coach Matt Rhule. told him about his experience when Rhule was at Penn State.”

I feel like I did it to get here. It’s an opportunity, so I have to do it in Nebraska and I’m definitely ready to do it.
