Shocking News: Fans In Shock As Auburn Tigers Legend Makes An Unexpected Move As He Officially Enters The Transfer Portal.

Auburn guard K.D. Johnson to enter transfer portal

Auburn guard K.D. Johnson is entering the transfer portal according to a joint post on his Instagram account.

Throughout his three years at Auburn, Johnson won over many fans with his intense, flamboyant, and passionate style of play on the court.

After attending Georgia for his freshman year, he transferred to Auburn. Johnson averaged 12.3 points per game while starting 31 games in his rookie campaign with the Tigers. Before the 2022–2023 season, which was Johnson’s second season with Auburn, he was named to the preseason All-SEC second team.

Over the next two years, though, Johnson’s playing time steadily declined as he was placed to the bench.

Because of his enthusiasm off the bench, head coach Bruce Pearl and commentators frequently referred to Johnson as a “psycho” on the floor.

Johnson has one more year to be eligible as a graduate transfer. This year, he participated in senior day events.

Johnson is the first Auburn player to leave the team after the 2023–24 season was abruptly ended due to an upset loss to Yale, the No. 13 seed, in the NCAA Tournament’s first round.

Lior Berman and Jaylin Williams were the only ineligible players on the team. Following Johnson’s departure, Aden Holloway, Tre Donaldson, Denver Jones, guard/forward combo Chad Baker-Mazara, and incoming freshman Tahaad Pettiford are Auburn’s remaining rotating guards on the roster.

Using the transfer site, Auburn has already made contact with a number of guards.
