The Washington Commanders are Driskel’s 7th NFL team

Driskel’s football career started in college, where he was a player for Louisiana Tech and Florida. His professional career began when the San Francisco 49ers selected him in the 2016 NFL Draft. Since then, Driskel has played quarterback for a number of clubs, including the Cleveland Browns, Lions, Houston Texans, Cincinnati Bengals, Denver Broncos, and Arizona Cardinals.

In the 2019 NFL season, Driskel received his first start with the Lions following an injury to starter Matthew Stafford. Named the starter for Detroit’s matchup against the Chicago Bears, Driskel threw one touchdown, and one interception, and amassed 269 passing yards. He later threw a pair of touchdown passes and 209 passing yards in a loss against the Dallas Cowboys.

Throughout his NFL career, Driskel has accumulated a record of 1-11 as a starter, totaling 2,394 passing yards, 16 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.

Bottom Line: Good luck to Driskel

Despite having a lackluster win-loss record overall, Jeff Driskel’s league experience makes him an invaluable member of the Commanders. Driskel gives Washington a solid backup in case Jake Fromm or Marcus Mariota are hurt because of his understanding of the nuances of the game.

Throughout his career, he has shown professionalism, and we wish him well in his next role with the Commanders.
