In today’s edition of Auburn Tigers News, a 4-star quarterback from out west will make his final decision soon and Auburn football announces the A-Day MVPs

Husan Longstreet, a 4-star quarterback, traveled to the Plains from Corona, California, this past weekend to participate in the Tigers’ spring scrimmage. It was his second visit to Auburn’s campus and the last one he would make before deciding which school to commit to in just one week.

Longstreet, the #2 prospect out of California and the #5 quarterback in the recruiting class of 2025, has scheduled April 14 as the day he will make his commitment. Texas A&M, Michigan, Miami, Oregon, Louisville, and Ole Miss football will be his options.

Development is the most important factor to Longstreet when making decisions, and he has been quite pleased with the Tigers’ coaching staff thus far.

“The way Coach Jesse (Stone), Coach (Kent) Austin, Coach Freeze can develop their quarterbacks,” Longstreet said, per Auburn Rivals. “They bring in great pieces around them. They did it at Ole Miss. They did it at Liberty. They’re doing it now.”

Auburn football announces the A-Day MVPs

Spring practice is officially over after the A-Day game this past weekend, and the game ended with the offense beating the defense by one point, a 28-27 final score. Many of the Tigers’ true freshmen were on display in Jordan-Hare, and a group of transfers played in front of Auburn football fans for the first time.

There were two freshmen and one transfer among the Tigers’ spring game MVPs. Jerrin Thompson, a former Texas defensive back, was the defense’s MVP. Throughout the scrimmage, he recorded three tackles and a sack.

Freshman wide receiver Cam Coleman, who tallied the offense’s lone touchdown of the game, was the offensive MVP. On four catches, he gained 92 yards, including a 49-yard pass from Hank Brown.

And who could be the special teams MVP but true freshman kicker Towns McGough, who scored 21 of the offense’s 28 points on seven field goals and a 58-yard game-winning kick?
