Breaking News: “This Is Massive” High Possibilities Restored As Auburn Tigers Sign Former ‘Player Of The Year’ In An Outstanding Way.

Auburn WBB lands Arkansas transfer, former Gatorade Player of the Year Taliah Scott

Long into the summer, Johnnie Harris and Auburn’s women’s basketball team are making waves thanks to Arkansas transfer guard Taliah Scott, who declared her commitment to the Tigers on social media on Sunday morning.

Since Chantel Jennings of The Athletic recently ranked Scott as the third-best available player in the transfer portal, Auburn has acquired one of the most sought-after guards available.

Scott’s ability to score points and her three years of remaining eligibility were given by Jennings as to why she was ranked third.

Scott played in 20 games and made 19 starts for the Razorbacks as a freshman this past season, averaging 22.1 points and 3.3 rebounds per contest. Scott had a 40 percent shooting clip from the field and 29 percent from beyond the 3-point line.

Ironically, one of Scott’s biggest games of her freshman campaign came against Auburn as she played in all 40 minutes and dropped 33 points on the Tigers — her best scoring performance in SEC play. Her 33 points against Auburn made for her third and 30-plus scoring performance of the season.

Scott missed a handful of games in January as she dealt with an injury, followed by missing time in February as she returned home to Florida to deal with what was described as a “serious family emergency.”

After graduating from Orange Park, Florida’s St. Johns Country Day School in 2023, Scott received several honors, including McDonald’s All-American, Gatorade Player of the Year, Florida Dairy Farmer’s Miss Basketball, and honorable mention in the Naismith High School Girls Basketball tournament.

Before finishing with an average of 36.2 points per game, Scott led the nation in scoring throughout the majority of her senior year in high school, having scored 2,735 points in her career. Scott scored 47 points in her final high school game, but her team lost in the state semifinal.

Scott’s arrival is crucial for Harris and the Tigers as they attempt to replace Honesty Scott-Grayson’s scoring, which averaged 17.3 points per game in her final season on The Plains.
