Kansas WR Bryson Hayes commits to Nebraska

Nebraska football added more speed to its 2025 recruiting class on Sunday as Maize (Kan.) wide receiver Bryson Hayes announced his commitment to the Huskers.

The 5-foot-11, 180-pound Hayes chose the Huskers over Kansas, Kansas State and others.

“I connected with Coach (McGuire) the receivers coach and Coach Rob (Dvoracek) who recruits my area a lot. Coach Rhule and all of them have been on me from the start when the offered me at camp last summer. Nebraska is a sleeping giant that’s about to wake up,” Hayes told 247Sports.

The commitment ends a courtship with Nebraska that began last summer at a Husker football camp. Hayes ran a blistering 40-time to catch the attention of Nebraska’s staff, and earned his offer that day.

Hayes backed up the offer as a junior on the football field, making 60 catches for 962 yards and 10 touchdowns. He said in January that Nebraska sees him as an ideal fit for its offense.

“They think I can be very versatile, I can be a deep threat, I can go in the slot and they can use me in multiple ways,” Hayes said after a junior day visit.

Bryson Hayes commitment: What does it mean for Nebraska?

Hayes has been a frequent visitor to Lincoln. He visited in January for a junior day and returned this month for a spring practice as well. He will next visit for the Red-White game and has an official set for June.

Hayes is the second commitment in as many days, joining Lincoln Southwest wide receiver Jackson Carpenter, who committed on Saturday.

Hayes is a three-star prospect with an overall rating of 86, according to 247Sports. His pledge gives Nebraska five commits in its 2025 recruiting class.
