Skip Bayless Doesn’t Hold Back His Thoughts About Cowboys’ Draft
The Dallas Cowboys had until the NFL Draft to appease their fans.
They did a solid job with their first two picks, bolstering their decimated offensive line with some strong selections.
Nonetheless, they haven’t landed the potential star that Jerry Jones promised, and some fans have lost their patience.
Notably, that includes Skip Bayless, who has been very critical of Jones’ offseason approach for quite a while now.
Unfortunately, Jerry Jones is not orchestrating the kind of instant-impact draft haul needed to turn the Cowboys back into a playoff team.
The “Undisputed” pundit — and diehard Cowboys fan — took to Twitter to state that Jones hadn’t orchestrated “the kind of instant-impact draft haul” he needed to turn the team into a legitimate contender.
Jones has infuriated the fans multiple times recently.
He shockingly decided to keep HC Mike McCarthy after one of the most humiliating and painful playoff losses in franchise history, and that’s after threatening to get him fired if he didn’t get the job done.
Then, he declared that the team would put everything on the line and focus on the here and now rather than the future, but he let several important players walk and failed to sign any of their stars to long-term contracts.
Jones did not make a single significant trade, and the biggest name that might be making his way to Arlington is none other than Ezekiel Elliott, who in 2024 will not be a star.
It’s difficult to trust Jones at this point, and even though a few of their youngsters might have an immediate impact, it’s difficult to see this team winning the NFC, let alone their division, in 2024.
