Earlier this week it was confirmed by On3 Sports that former South Alabama linebacker Khalil Jacobs will be visiting several SEC programs including Auburn football. The sophomore, who is expected on the Plains this Tuesday, will have two years of eligibility remaining and will visit both Missouri and Alabama in addition to the Tigers.

With Cam Riley, Wesley Steiner and even Brenton Williams entering the portal, head coach Hugh Freeze and his staff are likely looking for more talent and depth in the Tigers’ secondary. After the 2023 season, Jacobs racked up 56 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss and three forced fumbles, and told On3 about what he’s looking for in his next program.

“I’m looking for a positive environment I can thrive in,” he told On3. “I’m dominant on the field, and I want to be a part of a system that will allow me to do so.”

While the Tigers have been bringing in players from the transfer portal and hosting visits, several players have also parted ways with the program, including edge Brenton Williams, wide receiver Jay Fair, and cornerback Colton Hood.

Brenton Williams, an Opelika, Alabama native, registered for the spring window from the beginning and said last week that he had committed to Liberty, the former school of head coach Hugh Freeze. Williams’ eligibility will last for an additional four years.

The Tigers’ most effective receiver from the previous campaign, Jay Fair, logged into the site last week and found his new program with ease. Fair made his move to play for Lincoln Riley and USC official on Sunday afternoon.

And lastly, Tyler Scott, another cornerback who chose to opt out of the portal, and cornerback Colton Hood entered simultaneously. Hood and his brother, who played at UCF before, will play together at Colorado next season, it was reported Sunday afternoon.
