Nebraska has a big-time addition to this weekend’s list of visitors.
This weekend, add a noteworthy name to Nebraska’s official visitor list. On this one, you’ll need to push the scroll bar to the top of the recruiting ranks.
David Sanders Jr., a five-star offensive lineman, announced on social media on Thursday that he will be traveling to Nebraska this weekend with an OV.
“This weekend is my official visit, and I’m excited! Sanders wrote, “See you soon,” on X.
According to 247Sports, the 6-6, 270-pound Sanders of Charlotte, North Carolina’s Providence Day School is the second-best player in the whole 2025 class.
On a Husker recruiting weekend that also features official visits from uncommitted players like edge defensive Nicholas Clayton (Gainesville, Fla.) and offensive lineman Brock Shull (Bixby, Okla.), this addition is high-profile. Caleb Benning, a recent signing for the Huskers and a formidable member of the class, is also spending time with that group.
Sanders was the North Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year in 2023 as a two-way player for a Providence Day squad that went 12-1 and won a NCISAA Division I state title. He’s been a national recruit since he was starting as a ninth grader.
He had a top six in early March that included Tennessee, Georgia, Clemson, South Carolina, Ohio State and Alabama. While Nebraska wasn’t on this, the official visit status always places a program as a contender.
Sanders has planned to make a July or August decision after his officials.
A student-athlete with high goals in everything, he has said before he’d like to become a left tackle in the NFL or an orthopedic surgeon.
